Sheila has been a counsellor since 1996. She works from a person-centred approach which means that Sheila offers a deep acceptance of her clients. She seeks to understand their experiences as closely as she can, and offers her responses in a open and genuine manner. Through this relating she trusts that clients can find ways forward with the issues, concerns, and the stresses that bring them to counselling in the first place.
Sheila is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is also registered as an independent practioner with UKRCP.
In addition to her work at Rowan, Sheila is a staff counsellor at Edinburgh University, and has an independent private practice as a counsellor and supervisor.
