Ashleigh Cormack is Head of Counselling and Supervision at Rowan Consultancy. Before training, as a helping professional, she worked in IT and Telecommunications for 10 years. Since 2004 she has worked as a therapist, researcher, supervisor and coach. She’s supported adults and young people with wide-ranging issues and in within a variety of settings (private and voluntary organisations, higher education, secondary schools and youth services).
Ashleigh’s therapeutic approach is integrative. She has trained in several therapeutic modalities including: CBT and Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, EMDR and Person-Centred. She also works creatively using art based therapy techniques to help clients to explore issues that may be below the surface of their awareness. Ashleigh works flexibly and collaboratively, with each person seeking help, tailoring support to the needs of the individual and what they might find helpful or useful. By offering support and understanding Ashleigh helps the client to find new ways of approaching problems and to locate and utilise strengths and resources.
As a BACP accredited counsellor Ashleigh adheres to their professional ethics and codes of practice.
