Gain a professional certificate whilst coaching your team to success!

This course will show you the skills to empower and motivate your team members. Coaching skills help you develop your direct reports, by asking powerful questions provoking them to think of solutions for themselves. This course enables you to hold formal coaching sessions with colleagues, as well as using coaching skills on an informal basis as part of your job. It gives you a recognised qualification in workplace coaching and mentoring.

If you want to become a freelance coach, this qualification gives you a thorough grounding in workplace coaching, which is transferable to other areas of coaching.

Overview

The Level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring is a concise qualification made up of three mandatory units which introduce the key aspects of coaching in the workplace. The modules are:

  • 'Understanding the skills, principles, and practice of effective management coaching and mentoring';
  • 'Undertaking coaching within an organisational context' ;
  • 'Reflecting on coaching skills within an organisational context'

You will complete a written assignment for each unit. You need to complete at least 18 hours of workplace coaching i.e. find people whom you will coach about their workplace issues.

This is ideal if you are a manager with significant responsibility for coaching and mentoring as part of your day-to-day role. It will also support you if you are planning to move into a development role in your organisation or start a career as a freelance coach and mentor.

Results for you :

  • Get a critical understanding of the role and responsibilities of the workplace coach and mentor
  • Deepen your understanding of how coaching and mentoring can impact an organisation
  • Be able to assess your own skills, behaviours and knowledge as a coach and mentor
  • Provide evidence of your own development as a coach and mentor through the qualification
  • Plan your further development
  • Plan, deliver and review coaching and mentoring in your organisation
Impact for your employer:
  • Ensure the managers you develop as coaches are properly equipped with the skills, knowledge and ethical understanding they need
  • Develop a coaching and mentoring culture in your organisation
  • Encourage managers to provide effective support for the development of others and improve their performance
