Counsellor

Claire trained in both person-centred and psychodynamic counselling approaches, and works with both children and adults.

When meeting up face to face Claire may use art, drama and play with a trained dog partner to explore the experiences that do not have words. As well as working in-person, Claire is trained to work remotely connecting with clients through Zoom, email and telephone.

Claire was previously a veterinary surgeon. Her counselling life has been spent working in schools, including a special needs school, a college and her own private practice. She was also a volunteer counsellor for 3 years with KASP, a Fife service working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Claire delivers a Canine Assisted Therapy programme to groups of young people and adults. She also provides training in Filial Therapy which enables parents/carers to be able to hold therapeutic play sessions with their children.

Claire is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adheres to their code of conduct.
